About Us

Sunday Morning     Bible Study on Thursdays     Pastor and His Family

Sunday Morning

We hold Divine Service at 10:30 am every Sunday morning with Holy Communion every Lord's Day.

We are a small church in a small town. We love the Lord. We believe in the Holy Bible as the inerrant Word of God and we preach the whole counsel of God. We use the English Standard Version of the Holy Bible (ESV) for most readings in church and as the translation for preaching and Bible Study.

Dress is business-causal to everyday. Suit or jeans, dress or slacks, we'd love to welcome you to visit our little church with a big heart.

No nursery, children's church, or Sunday School is currently provided but infants and children of all ages are welcome at Divine Service.

We normally record our sermons and post them to YouTube and our Facebook page.

Bible Study on Thursdays

Currently on hiatus due to Pastor Mike going back to school to get a second master's degree.

Our Bible Study is held at 6:30 pm on Thursdays at the Parsonage next door to the church.

We hold it in two semesters. The Fall Semester is from the Thursday after Labor Day to the Thursday before Thanksgiving. After a Winter Break we start up again and the Spring Semester is from the Thursday after New Year's to the Thursday before Memorial Day (excepting Maundy Thursday). Then we have a Summer Break before starting up again in September.

Pastor and His Family

Our pastor is Michael Mattson. He has served as pastor at Grace Baptist Church for the last 13 years. He started preaching as interim pastor on Sunday, August 1, 2010 and was ordained as senior pastor on Sunday, September 20, 2015.

Pastor Mike later married his wife Rachel Mattson in 2018 and together they currently have three sons: Gabriel, Liam, and Owen Mattson.

Pastor Mike grew up in northern Iowa and later moved to Ankeny, Iowa to attend Faith Baptist Bible College. He graduated from Faith with a Bachelor of Science in Pastoral Studies with an emphasis in Counseling.  After his bachelor's degree Pastor Mike went on to get further degree at Faith Theological Seminary. He graduated with a Master of Arts in Religion with an emphasis in Historic Theology.

Pastor also works a secular job currently as a Human Service Counselor.
